Xiaomi has been teasing the upcoming headphones for a couple of days. First, the manufacturer published a poster showing a feather with a shape of musical note. This simply means the new product will have something common with music and it will be lightweight. The second teaser showed a two-part picture of a plate and an earphone. So we understood the new product will be ceramic earphones. Today, as scheduled, the Xiaomi Half-In-Ear Earphones made of ceramic were launched at 69 yuan ($11).
The Xiaomi Half-In-Ear Earphones come with a minimalistic design with earbuds covered by what Xiaomi calls ‘a glossy ceramic texture’. Thanks to it the earphones look more luxurious.
As the name suggests, some part of the Xiaomi Half-In-Ear Earphones will stick out of your ear. Such a structure not only improves the flow of music but also protects eardrums. But we are dealing with a Xiaomi product, which simply means there should be a ‘trick’. Xiaomi has also upgraded the internals and it is now using a multi-layer ceramic driver unit and a moving coil unit in the same headphone cavity.
Not accidentally, this product is called the Xiaomi ceramic earphones. The manufacturer uses ceramic not only on the outside, but on the inside as well. To interpret lower frequencies in a better way and to provide a richer bass experience there is a special dynamic circle unit driver, which uses a bi-directional vibration.
Moreover, Xiaomi uses a soft TPE material for the cord, which prevents tangling and keeps it easy to use even in cold temperatures. There is also a 3-button remote to control it. It houses a clear micro-electromechanical microphone as well.
The Xiaomi Half-In-Ear Earphones has passed the Hi-Res Audio certification of the Japan Audio Association and has a high-quality listening experience far beyond the limits of CD sound quality. The 3.5mm audio jack is angled at 90-degree, which makes it less prone to sudden yanking when the cord is stretched. There are two color options to choose from – black and white.
