Days before the media event in Beijing, Xiaomi has officially confirmed on Twitter that the company’s upcoming Mi Note 2 will indeed feature a dual-curved display. Rumors about a dual-curved display had actually started doing the rounds a few months back, with some alleged renders of the handset also cropping up online over the last few days.

According to alleged leaked presentation slides, the Mi Note 2’s dual-curved display will offer 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution and is going to measure 5.7-inches diagonally. However, unlike what the early rumors had suggested, it appears the display will be supplied by LG Display and not Samsung. Additionally, the display will also feature 3D Touch technology and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner similar to the one on the Mi 5s. An iris scanner is rumored to be present as well, which would mean that the Mi Note 2 could be Xiaomi’s first smartphone to come with an iris scanner.

Rest of the handset’s rumored specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset, 4/6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.0 internal memory, 23 + 12MP dual rear camera setup, 4100mAh capacity battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, and a USB Type-C port.

The base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is said to cost 2,800 CNY ($415), while the top end model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage could be priced at 3000 CNY ($445). More info will be revealed at Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2 event on October 25th.
