Xiaomi 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 Unboxing

A couple of days back Xiaomi launched its new Power Bank dubbed as the Xiaomi 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2. In comparison to the firs gen power bank this one comes with replaced polymer batteries and Quick Charge 3.0 support as well as two-way fast charge support. This model has been also changed in terms of appearance becoming more attractive. As the changes are outstanding we decided to take a peek at the key features of the Xiaomi 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 and we introduce you its unboxing process.

The Xiaomi 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 has been shortened in length and width. It has become thicker and the edges are more rounded. Therefore this model is more compact and it is great in terms of ergonomics.

As I said, the second gen Mi Power Bank supports Xiaomi Mi 5 / 5S / 5S Plus Quick Charge 3.0, Huawei Mate 9 FCP (Fast Charger Protocol) at 9V output performance, and it is compatible with Apple devices. Of course, this is not the first Mi Power Bank supporting Huawei FCP, as the first gen power bank supported this protocol as well.

Anyway, let’s see what’s in the box.

The product comes in a white packaging carrying the product’s high-def image on the top.

The detailed product information is printed on the bottom of the box. It includes the model number of PLM05ZM, power value of 77Wh (20000mAh / 3.85V), input: 5V2A / 9V2A / 12V1.5A, output: 5.1V2.4A / 9V2A / 12V1.5A (18W Max), and so on.

The Xiaomi 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 box includes the power bank itself, a microUSB cable and a manual.

Putting this model next to the older version we can clearly see the actual differences between these products – the more rounded edges, the thicker body, etc.

However, the top side is basically the same.

The bottom side of the Xiaomi 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2 differs from the previous model, because the LG batteries are replaced with polymer batteries. This panel also carries a message we are dealing with a two-way fast charging product. And you can find the production date like 201612.

As you see, the second gen Xiaomi Mi Power Bank has been changed a lot. Now it supports QC 3.0 and FCP, the design has become more acceptable and so on. But what we’d like to see in this product is the USB Type-C. Unfortunately, it lacks. So we hope to see it in the next models.
