XFX today introduced a new Radeon RX 480 graphics card today, dubbed the Radeon RX 480 Crimson Edition. While the card shares the same board design as the RX 480 Double Dissipation, it adds red LED illumination on the fans as well as XFX logo. It is in fact the only XFX RX 480 card that currently comes pre-loaded and ready to go with the company’s award winning Red Hard Swap fans.

The XFX patented fan design lets you change or upgrade the fans in a snap. XFX offers different upgrade options for higher performance as well as color LED options for customization. Another major highlight of the card is its unibody heatsink design. The unibody VRM heatsink design enables direct transfer to the primary heatsink and heatpipes, helping boost thermal efficiency by up to 40%. The XFX Radeon RX 480 Crimson Edition also comes with an aluminum backplate that adds addition cooling while providing protection to your card.

While you do get fancy illumination, the card does not come with a high factory overclock. It features a 1288 MHz core, which is only slightly higher than the 1266 MHz reference. The 8GB of GDDR memory is also left untouched at 8.00 GHz.

Display outputs include 3 DisplayPorts, 1 HDMI, and 1 DL-DVI-D. The card draws power using a single 8-pin connector and requires a minimum 500W PSU.
