Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is the next major upgrade for Micro…

227

Microsoft has just announced the next major update for Windows 10 at the day 2 keynote of Build 2017 in Seattle. Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is the next major upgrade for the software giant’s operating system, and it’s coming later this year. Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is codenamed “Redstone 3” as some of you may know, and it’s bringing a lot of new features to the operating system later this year.

The name of the update, however, is a bit confusing. Microsoft has already released an update for Windows 10 called the “Creators Update” but this time, it’s calling the next update the “Fall Creators Update” which will definitely confuse a lot of regular consumers. But in terms of features, the Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 is much bigger than the Creators Update.

First and foremost: there’s a new design system called the Microsoft Fluent Design System. The new design system is codenamed “Project NEON” which we actually revealed in all its glory earlier this year. As we have previously reported, the Microsoft Fluent Design system focuses highly on animations and motion effects to deliver an intuitive user experience in Windows 10.

Microsoft is also bringing some other major new features to the OS with the Fall Creators Update. There’s a new creative app that brings a new way of storytelling to Windows 10, Microsoft is also bringing Clipboard syncing, Pick Up Where You Left Off for Android, iOS (along with Windows 10 devices), and a new Timeline feature that will let you keep track of all of your tasks in Windows 10.

Microsoft is probably going to release the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update sometime around September/October, but the company will likely start testing some of the new features with Windows Insiders in the coming months. As per usual, stay tuned to MSPU for more on Windows 10 and the Fall Creators Update. In the meantime, make sure to check out all the other Windows 10-related announcements coming out of Build 2017 -.
