Microsoft is set to release the Windows 10 Creators Update sometime next month. As we initially reported back in January, the Windows 10 Creators Update will be rolled out gradually similar to the Anniversary Update from last year. As a result, all Windows 10 users won’t be able to get the Creators Update on their PC from day 1.
Microsoft will, however, provide users with a tool to upgrade to the Creators Update on day 1 if they want to. The company will release a new Windows 10 Update Assistant for the Creators Update which users will be able to download and use to upgrade to the Creators Update. The new Update Assistant for the Creators Update was leaked by Microsoft enthusiast WalkingCat, but don’t get too excited yet as it isn’t completely functional yet.
The “new” Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant is exactly like the one Microsoft released last year for the Anniversary Update — but it’ll now download the latest Creators Update build rather than the Anniversary Update. When you open up the Update Assistant, you will be greeted with the following message:
“One of the best features of Windows 10 ius that it keeps getting better with every update. This PC is currently not running the latest and most secure version of Windows 10. This PC is running version 14393. The latest version is 15063.”
As you can see, the Update Assistant has confirmed the RTM build number for the Windows 10 Creators Update which is build 15063. Microsoft has already released build 15063 to Insiders, and it will likely be the build all Windows 10 users receive when Microsoft starts rolling it ou to the public.
At this stage, the Update Assistant does not actually work and you won’t be able to download the Creators Update using the Update ssistant. This is probably because Microsoft didn’t officially start rolling out the update itself, but once that happens, you should be able to upgrade your PC running Windows 10 build 14393 to build 15063.
