Microsoft is releasing yet another new build of Windows 10 to Windows Insiders. The software giant today released build 14942 to Insiders in the Fast Ring, bringing a couple of minor improvements and lots of bug fixes. Firstly, Microsoft has updated Windows Update to be an actual app — meaning that you can now set notification settings for Windows Update. For example, you can set notifications from Windows Update to be priority notifications, you can set custom ringtones for notifications from Windows Update, and more. As Windows Update is now an actual app, there is a new logo for it (which looks decent).

In addition to this, Microsoft is adding the ability to hide the app list in Start Menu — a much-requested feature. Microsoft is also refining the touchpad experience on Windows 10 — with the latest build, Microsoft has enhanced detection of left and right clicks, which should make the touchpad experience a lot better — and make it “just work”.

These are just some of the new things in Windows 10 Build 14942, but the build includes a range of other minor improvements and fixes which are always nice to have. As per usual, the latest build is available to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring for PCs. If you want to download the update, just open up Windows Update from the Settings app and you should be able to install the new update from there.
