Picture-in-picture mode for video calls was in testing phases for quite some time and it looks like WhatsApp thinks the feature is finally ready to reach a wider audience. The messaging platform has now updated its stable version of the app with a couple of new features, among which is the said PiP mode.
Unfortunately, the PiP mode is only available on Android devices running Oreo since it is a feature that is exclusive to Android Oreo. The second addition to the app is the ability to set text only, self-destructing status updates.
