Two-step verification has rolled out for everyone on WhatsApp, allowing users to make their accounts more secure. The feature was previously found in a beta, but now it’s out for all on iOS, Android, and Windows.
It’s entirely optional. If you decide to enable it, you’ll be asked to set up a six-digit passcode that will then be required every time you want to register your phone number with the app.
WhatsApp recommends setting up an email address that can be used as a way to disable the feature just in case.
The app will also periodically ask for your passcode.
