Microsoft has rolled out new cumulative updates for Windows 10 systems, including one that is specifically aimed at computers running the Anniversary Update launched in August last year.

With Windows 10 Anniversary Update already running on some 80 percent of all Windows 10 systems, it’s not hard to figure out that this is quite a critical update for both Microsoft and its users, so let’s see what it brings new to the table.

First and foremost, it’s worth mentioning that just like all the other cumulative updates, KB4013429 is not here to bring any new features, but only security fixes, since it’s Patch Tuesday, along with other performance and stability improvements for the Windows 10 operating system and the built-in apps.

What’s new in cumulative update KB4013429

Since it lands after a delayed Patch Tuesday, there are lots of fixes this time, and you can check them in the box after the jump, but there are a few highlights that need to be mentioned.

For example, KB4013429 fixes an issue with a previous cumulative update, namely KB3213986, which according to Microsoft caused the Cluster Service to not start automatically on the first reboot after applying the update.

Additionally, there are tons of bug fixes, such as a patch for a bug that caused Internet Explorer to fail after installing update KB3175443, but also other features to experience issues due to other updates. The VBScript engine, for instance, was said to be hit with errors after installing update KB3185319, and today’s cumulative update comes to address these problems.

There are also lots of updates for Microsoft apps, but also security fixes, which kind of make sense given the fact that the cumulative update lands on Patch Tuesday, the day when Microsoft addresses vulnerabilities in its software.

At this point, there are no reports of failed installs and Microsoft itself says that it’s not currently aware of any issues, so fingers crossed for KB4013429 to install successfully on all PCs.
