Every day seems to bring more bad news for beleaguered mobile device maker Samsung Electronics. Since Galaxy Note7 smartphones started to explode in August, lawsuits related to the defective handsets have cropped up around the world. Reports now are circulating that other Galaxy smartphones are overheating. And, most recently, there have been news reports that some Samsung washing machines are also at risk of exploding. In the midst of all this bad news, Samsung is trying to rebuild its damaged brand and encourage loyal customers to continue to buy its products. So far, Samsung has taken some steps in the right direction by apologizing for the Galaxy Note7’s flaws and promising improved products in the future. But that’s just the start. Samsung must take full responsibility for its mistakes, thoroughly investigate its product flaws, and demonstrate that the affected products have been permanently fixed and are now entirely safe to use. That’s the only way Samsung can restore trust in its products and brand name. This slide show discusses the 10 things Samsung should do to rebuild its brand and restore customers’ trust.
