Undoubtfully, Xiaomi Mi Mix is the most elegant edge-to-edge phone which defines a new era of the smartphones. Still, how much strong it could be from the inside with the Snapdragon 821 and 6GB memory but from outside with the ceramic chassis. That’s why we call it Xiaomi’s most fragile phone, as an unprotected Xiaomi Mi Mix’s screen and even the shell breaks when the terminal hits the ground. Just one fall decides the faith of your beloved Mix and the repair charges comes your nightmare costing up to 1350 yuan (?$195). The picture below shows the outcome of an unlucky falling Mi Mix (not protected).

However, if we become wise and buy a protection case with it, the same fall with the same angle and side damage can be reduced to a minor crack only, in the front glass. Don’t believe us? Here take a look at the survivor covered with the protective case to decrease the damage.

People like Google engineers still says that Xiaomi Mi Mix has some suspected design flaws when strikes with the ground. On Weibo, @ Wang Yonggang stated that “My Mi Mix fell from a height of less than half a meter and the protective cover bounced off, with the same angle and same side.
Obviously, Mi Mix is not shatterproof. It’s not even protected with Gorilla Glass technology and features more than 91% screen-to-body ratio. Moreover, we can’t expect more from a smartphone which itself is a concept phone only. Still, the image is way better than the first crashed Xiaomi Mi Mix.

We think that with the protection case, Xiaomi Mi Mix indeed took less damage compared to the unprotected one. Plus, it’s not bad to give a 249 yuan ($36) insurance of the smartphone, yearly. At least it’s better than spending $36 rather than paying $195. What do you think? Comment!
