Wha Yu Industrial lands additional base station-use antenna orders
Irene Chen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Wednesday 16 November 2016]

Taiwan-based antenna maker Wha Yu Industrial has landed orders for antennas used in base stations from a new Japan-based mobile telecom carrier, with shipments to begin at the end of 2016, according to the company.

Wha Yu has been shipping its station-use antennas to Japan since 2015 when it managed to receive related orders from a Japan-based telecom operator, the company noted.

In the domestic market, Wha Yu has also received verification for its antenna products for LTE base stations from Asia Pacific Telecom. It received similar verifications from Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) previously.

New antenna orders from Japan- and Taiwan-based telecom operators will help boost Wha Yu ‘s sales growth in the fourth quarter, said the company.

Wha Yu saw its revenues grow 35% sequentially to NT$729 million (US$22.96 million) in the third quarter of 2016. Net profits rallied 423% to NT$49 million in the third quarter, which translated into an EPS of NT$0.08 for the July-September period.
