Irvine-based Western Digital, the developer of disk drives and other electronics products, said today that it has launched a new version of its streaming media player which connects with the Spotify music service. WD said its new WD TV Live streaming media player will offer up direct support for streaming Spotify to users, in addition to streaming Netflix, Hulu Plus, Blockbuster, Pandora, YouTube and other services to a TV. The WD streaming media player uses wireless 802.11n to connect to the Internet. The new Spotify support requires a premium account on the music service, but supports creating playlists and sharing and connecting with friends via their Spotify profiles. READ MORE>>
