Wacom is probably best known for making graphics pads that artists can use to create digital sketches, or maybe for the pressure-sensitive digital pen technology incorporated in some Windows and Android tablets. But for the past few years, Wacom has been offering its own standalone computers which are basically tablets and graphics pads built into a single device.

Now Wacom is expanding its line of portable PCs with the launch of the Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13 and MobileStudio Pro 16.

As the names suggest, the new systems will come in two sizes: 13.3 inches and 15.6 inches. Basically these are tablets with laptop-sized displays, active digitizers, and support for the brand new Wacom Pro Pen 2.

The company says the new pen offers accuracy and pressure sensitivity that’s 4 times better than Wacom’s previous-gen Pro Pen.

Prices start at $1499 for an entry-level model with an Intel processor, 64GB of storage, and a 13.3 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display.

Higher-priced options include a 3D camera, up to 512GB of storage, and the 15.6 inch model is available with optional NVIDIA Quadro M600M or M1000M graphics and an optional 4K display.

Those extra features will cost you though: a top-of-the-line model will sell for $2999.

Wacom says the new MobileStudio Pro computers will be available in November.
