This year was very successful for VIVO. It ranks the fifth in the world with 95.2 million sold units. This is also binding. The company should make more good smartphones, pay more attention to design, invest more in innovative technologies, continue optimizing its own system, etc. Seems all the aforementioned tasks are done A’s. At beginning of the year, this brand launched the world’s first true full-screen smartphone, the VIVO NEX. Later it announced the VIVO X21 flagship. And on September 6, the VIVO X23 was unleashed with a single purpose in mind – to win the title of the best smartphone in the world. Now, when it is already out, we can assess all of its pros and cons. Some can disagree with its title. But the VIVO X23 is an amazing handset with a number of innovations and trendy features. As for now, it is offered at $609.99, which is an 11% discount and a great offer.

The VIVO X23 is packed with a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED full-screen, which has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and a screen ratio of 91.2%. Under the hood, it carries a Snapdragon 670 chip, which is the enhanced variant of the super mid-range SND660. This chip adopts a 2 x 2GHz Kryo 360 (performance) + 6 x 1.7GHz Kryo 360 (efficiency) design and a 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 615 GPU. In its turn, the VIVO X23 comes with an 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is a 3400mAh battery under the hood. It is promised to provide up to 2 days of normal use or 6 hours of heavy use.
The VIVO X23 is the first model to be equipped with the ‘Super HDR’ technology, which was announced in March this year. In terms of functions, the ‘125° super wide-angle camera’ function is added to the rear camera. In the previous generation, there was an upgrade of the camera function and AI camera function, including the Brilliance Camera, Body Camera, Portrait Light Effect, AI Scene Camera, AI Malformation Correction, and so on. The phone uses a 12MP sensor both in front and rear. With full-pixel dual-core focusing technology, it can achieve 24MP resolution. Secondly, the rear main image head uses the Sony IMX363 sensor to provide a F/1.8 aperture, while the front one comes with a F/2.0 aperture. In addition, the back camera comes with the secondary 13MP camera for ‘125° super wide-angle camera.’
However, the most interesting feature of the VIVO X23 is the fourth-gen ‘photo-fingerprint unlocking’ technology, which is upgraded at both hardware and software levels, resulting in a faster and safer fingerprint unlocking experience. The hardware uses a F/1.5 aperture and 750ppi screen pixel density identification module. In addition, the software enhances the fingerprint image to remove noise, de-filter, and the process of feature point extraction and matching is optimized one by one. The unlocking efficiency is improved a lot. According to the official introduction, the X23’s unlocking speed is 40% higher than the X21, and it takes only 0.35 seconds to unlock.
But if you like face unlock option, the VIVO X23 also integrates a ‘zero-light face recognition.’ Its biggest feature is the integration of infrared light at the camera and the addition of a hidden infrared fill light at the drop screen.
