In addition, the phone offers full LTE support. Let us see a little more hands-on experience in our review here.
Design Features
The casing of the Vernee Apollo Lite consists entirely of aluminum. If you hold the smartphone in hand, it does not give much of an upscale feel. The dimensions of the phone be 152 x 7.5 x 9.4 mm. The Apollo Lite is of the thickness of 9.4 mm and a compact 5.5-inch smartphone. Weighing about 175g the centre of gravity is in the central region and gives a feel of high-quality.
Apollo Lite comes in two colors to choose from – silver or gray. Two plastic holes on the slightly curved top and bottom ensure a better reception. On the front is the slightly rounded 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This smartphone has a very pleasant touch and feels good. In addition, the smartphone is resistant to scratches. The edges around the display are kept low at only 2mm. Above the display, there is a notification LED that can light up in different colors. Soft touch buttons are present below the screen but Apollo Lite instead it uses on-screen buttons.

With the naked eye so no individual pixels are much visible. The brightness of the display is high and also the color reproduction is very strong. In terms of contrast, the phone made good values, although an even deeper blacks would have made it to be more nice. The viewing angle stability of the phone is simply excellent and the 5 point touch screen responds accurately to every touch.
Mediatek Miravision
If you want to adjust the display to their own needs, you can make all the possible settings with the integrated Miravision tool. Smartwake or gesture control are not available on the Vernee Apollo Lite. However, an update could be installed.
Processor and Computing Power
In the heart of Vernee Apollo Lite is a Mediatek Helio X20 with 4GB RAM. It is one of the most powerful mobile computing units available in the market. The CPU has all 10 cores (Deca-core), which are divided into 3 distinct clusters:
- 4x Cortex-A53 @ 1.4GHz
- 4x Cortex-A53 @ 1.85GHz
- 2x Cortex-A72 @ 2.3GHz
The cores of Helio X20 ensure not only high performance but also for economical energy management. In dealing with simple standard tasks such as telephony, surfing or chatting only the first Cortex A53 cluster with 4 x 1.4GHz used. When more processing power is needed, the second quad-core cluster is added. Only at extremely taxing tasks like gaming or 4K videos the power cluster of two Cortex A72 cores will eventually become active. The intelligent energy management ensures that the processor consumes low power which also performs when demanded.
In practical use the Vernee Apollo Lite delivers excellent speed at all tasks. Subjectively, no great difference to Snapdragon 820 is noted. Whether you are surfing on websites, apps uses or games played. The Apollo Lite does everything without appreciable waiting times, thanks to the 4GB large memory. The phone has also an excellent multitasking capability, so there is no loss of speed even with many apps in the background. The best part is the system optimization of Apollo Lite – only 1GB of RAM resource is taken from the system to process, and plenty of capacity are spared for the apps in the phone.
Benchmarks and Gaming Performances
The gaming performance of Vernee Apollo Lite probably should satisfy most users. Although the performance of the ARM Mali-T880 GPU is significantly lower than the Adreno 530 GPU of the Snapdragon 820, the phone still plays nearly every 3D game perfectly smooth. Modern Kombat 5 or NOVA 3 ran through the test without any hindrance. Asphalt 8 is playable, but not as smooth as with a Snapdragon 820. The heat dissipation of the Apollo Lite is also good; After 30 minutes of asphalt 8 Gaming the smartphone heated to 40 ° which is indeed noticeably warm but not uncomfortably hot.
In the benchmarks, Apollo Lite scored well which is due due to the well-optimized system. Compared to Le 2 which also has a Helio X20, the Apollo scored higher. The CPU-load benchmarks are about 30% lower than the Snapdragon 820, the fastest mobile processor. Also in the GPU-load benchmarks like 3DMark, Apollo Lite achieved good results, although it does not play in the premier league.
The RAM only reaches a speed of 6GBps. The 32 GB of internal memory scored with a read speed of 174MBps and a write speed of 78MBps which are considered to be good values. The internal memory is also expandable with a MicroSD card up to 128GB.
Android 6
The Vernee Apollo Lite has an unmodified Android 6 Marshmallow system. As for the system optimization, Vernee did a great job. The mobile phone runs very fast and no bugs or crashes occurred throughout the test phase . Spam apps or bloatware is also not on the Apollo Lite and Google Play Goals can be used without limitation. Fans of vanilla Android come here of their costs.
Camera
The main camera is a 16MP sensor Samsung that comes with an Aperture of f / 2.0. The camera is capable of recording 4K video and works with a PDAF auto-focus. A dual LED flash with 2-color supported good enough in the dark. The pictures in good lighting conditions were of a very good quality and do not have to hide behind the competition. The color reproduction and sharpness of images are comparable to the Redmi Note 3 Pro or Leeco Le 2. the auto-focus does its work quickly and well, and the trip time is hardly noticeable. When shooting in low light conditions, the Apollo Lite performs mediocre standard. The images are brightened in the right amount, there are some noises in the picture.
Something bad is that Apollo Lite has no special features integrated into the camera app apart from the standard settings and a few live filters that the app settings provide. A lapse or slow motion mode is not available at all. Videos can be in recorded in 4K resolution. The videos, under good lighting conditions and objects without much movement, are of good quality. While shooting moving objects, however, strips are produced and marks for the shaking slightly. To counteract this effect, the EIS (Electronic image stabilization) settings should be enabled. In a nutshell, 4K recordings of Apollo Lite not across the board
The front camera with 5 megapixels is good to go take selfies. The sharpness of the images is coherent, in order and also the color reproduction is fair.
Connectivity
The Vernee Apollo Lite supports – 2G, 3G and LTE frequencies (800/1800 / 2600MHz). In addition, it is a dual SIM phone. Unless one memory is expanded through micro SD card, a nano- and micro-SIM in the Apollo Lite Square can be fitted. The network reception of Apollo Lite is very good. There was never any problems to connect to the mobile Internet or make phone calls. Call quality is refined and of higher quality. On both caller and receiver ends, the voices are transmitted clearly and filters out background noise, thanks to the noise-canceling microphone. The speakerphone can be used without any problem. The filter of the Apollo Lite fairly cancels the ambient noise out.
The Apollo Lite demonstrated, in our test, a stable Wifi reception and is stable at 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Also, the Bluetooth 4.0 is good that our headphones did smooth playback which was maintained up to 12 feet distance.
The internal speaker of Apollo Lite is sound, but rather one of the weaknesses of the smartphone. Overall, the sound is relatively tinny and at maximum volume there is some distortion. With an ordinary head-set plugged to the phone you get a balanced and pleasant sound.
The fingerprint sensor of Apollo Lite is on the back. The sensor works quickly and accurately. To read the fingerprint it took about half a second. The detection accuracy is high, and it never comes to false positives. Also, the phone can be wakened up by pressing the fingerprint sensor.
Vernee Apollo Lite GPS
The GPS reception of Apollo Lite is strong. Within a quick time, the mobile phone connects up with as many as 15 satellites and determines the position quite accurately. And also a compass for easy pedestrian navigation is available. As for the sensors, the Apollo Lite has – accelerometer, proximity, brightness and Magnetic field sensors. A gyroscope for use of VR goggles also exists.
Battery Pack
The Vernee Apollo Lite has a 3180mAh battery which is fair. For a 5.5-inch smartphone, this is an average size. In practice, the phone does have very good battery life. This is particularly due to the excellent power management of the Helio X20 processor, which is very economical both in standby and in the use of simple apps and basic functions. With a good four hours throughout the…
