The upcoming Galaxy A7 (2017) mid-range smartphone from Samsung has just been certified by the US FCC. It had earlier been certified by the Bluetooth SIG last month.

Since the Galaxy A7 (2017) has made an appearance on several benchmark databases already, most of its key specifications have been confirmed. The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5” or 5.7” display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution. Powering the handset will be Samsung’s Exynos 7870 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8 GHz, with the ARM Mali-T830 GPU handling the graphics. In terms of memory, the Galaxy A7 (2017) will offer 3GB of RAM, paired with 32GB of onboard storage. Some markets may receive a 64GB version as well, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

One of the most impressive features of the Galaxy A7 (2017) will be a 16MP front-facing camera, a huge upgrade over the 5MP selfie camera found on the Galaxy A7 (2016). The rear camera will be an improvement as well, with the resolution going up from 13MP to 16MP. Some rumors even suggest the smartphone could feature a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint sensor as well.

The Galaxy A7 (2017) is expected to be officially announced soon, along with the Galaxy A3 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) models. Their predecessors had gone on sale about a year back, so chances of the trio going official before the end of the year are quite high.
