The U.Okay.’s antitrust regulator has revealed an early-stage probe into Google’s ties with Anthropic, after the Alphabet subsidiary invested in its U.S. AI rival over a number of rounds.
While it’s not at an official investigation stage but, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is inviting stakeholders and different “interested parties” to remark forward of a last resolution on whether or not the partnership “has resulted in the creation of a relevant merger situation” and whether or not this may result in a “substantial lessening of competition” within the U.Okay.
