Uber is getting back into Taiwan through a partnership with local licensed rental car companies. It’s been out of the country for two months due to a dispute with the Taiwanese government. Regular taxi providers in Taiwan fought Uber from the moment it launched in 2013.
Now, the service is live again in Taipei. It’ll be expanding to other cities in Taiwan shortly.
We want to partner with more legal transportation service partners in weeks and months to come, whether they be from rental car companies or the taxi industry. – Likai Gu, Uber
