U.S. market-bound LeEco reportedly planning two new smartpho…

Chinese firm LeEco’s new flagship Le Pro 3 is certainly an eye-opener. The device packs a Snapdragon 821 processor, up to 6 GB of RAM and other high-end niceties for a price way lower than other, similarly spec’d handsets. What makes this company of particular interest compared with the many other China-based brands churning out powerhouse smartphones is that it’s coming to America. With Silicon Valley offices in place, new staff and a confirmed launch event for later this month, we could soon see the likes of the Le Pro 3 roll-out to the Stateside audience. Now, a new report suggests that LeEco has two new handsets in the pipeline for November.

Precise details of the purported phones are scarce for now, but the Weibo-leaked image you see above is said to be one of them. Not much can be gleaned from the angled snap although, like an increasing number of smartphones, the bezels are thin-to-non-existent. We’re sure this will please quite a few of our readers.
So, what about the other device? It may be the strange-looking LeEco Le 2S (LEX652) seen on the right, which was certified by TENAA back in August with a dual camera setup that freaked some of our readers, as well as us. This handset carries a little more weight thanks to previous sightings, including one of a LeEco employing using the device at the Le Pro 3 launch. Note that it’s possible that the phone above is also the Le 2S; said TENAA listing did show super-thin bezels.
Though it doesn’t quite carry the might of the Le Pro 3, the Le 2S won’t be a complete slouch. It’s set to pack a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 IPS display, MediaTek’s deca-core Helio X25 chipset, dual 13-megapixel shooters, an 8-megapixel selfie shooter and 3900 mAh battery. There’s also set to be a rear fingerprint sensor and several color options including gold, silver and the depicted pink.
Could this handset be part of a smartphone launch in the United States following the upcoming event? It’s entirely possible, but we’re making quite a few assumptions. Notably, there’s no telling what LeEco — a company that makes bicycles, runs streaming services and has interests in self-driving cars — will even showcase a handset for the U.S. market October 19th.
If it does have a smartphone up its sleeve, though, the Le 2S gives a potential glimpse of what could be on offer
