At least three replacement Galaxy Note 7 units have exploded, according to reports, suggesting Samsung hasn’t fixed the handset’s problems with its recall. All of the replacement unit incidents were reported last week. These reports come around the same time as a smoking Note 7 forced a plane evacuation.
In Minnesota, a teenager said they were holding their phone when they suddenly felt a “weird, burning sensation” in their thumb. The burning was from a Note 7.
Another report in Kentucky involved a man who was taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation from a Galaxy Note 7 that caught on fire.
If these reports continue to appear and are attributable to a fault with the phone, it’s possible a second recall could be triggered.
