Just like Samsung, Apple reportedly also had problems with embedding Touch ID into display. While Samsung ran out of time and put the fingerprint scanner on the back, Apple has managed to solve the issues it had and embedded the Touch ID into the display.
At least that is according a report from DigiTimes, who says that TSMC had told their sources at the TSMC 2017 NA Technology Symposium held in Taipei on May 25 that Apple made a number of design changes to the iPhone 8, among which is an embedded fingerprint sensor.
