President Trump has signed a bill that’ll repeal internet privacy rules passed by the FCC in 2016. Those rules would have explicitly prevented ISPs from selling customer browsing data without permission. Even some Trump supporters were concerned about the bill after it made its way through the Senate and House.
Since this bill uses the Congressional Review Act, the FCC will be prevented from implementing similar protections in the future.
This is only the latest case of Trump overturning regulations passed under Obama. So far he’s reversed course in 10 different areas.
