Next year’s iPad Pro models may come with Face ID and TrueDepth Cameras like the iPhone X, according to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Though Apple is still deciding whether to bring those technologies to its full 2018 iPhone lineup, it’s said to be moving forward with their inclusion on some iPad models.
Kuo says this will give the iPad Pro an iPhone X-like user experience and it will boost the tablet’s competitiveness in the market, much as the iPhone X could push Android phone makers to adopt TrueDepth Camera-like capabilities. Having all top iOS devices include the tech will also assist “ecosystem development.”
