Chinese networking products manufacturer TP-Link expanded its small smartphone portfolio at IFA 2016 with the introduction of two new Android smartphones – Neffos X1 and Neffos X1 Max. The two device will join the Neffos C5L, C5, C5 Max announced in January this year.

The Neffos X1 feature a 5-inch 720p display and is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P10 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8GHz. It will be offered in two different memory configurations – 2GB of RAM + 16GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM + 32GB of onboard storage. Both variants do get a microSD card slot, so buyers will be able to expand the storage further. The rear camera on the X1 is a 13MP Sony IMX298 unit, paired with an f/2.0 aperture lens and a dual-tone LED flash. It also gets phase detection autofocus for faster focus speeds. On the front is a 5MP selfie camera. Other key features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM card slots, fingerprint sensor, and a 2250mAh capacity battery. In terms of dimensions, the handset measures 142 x 71 x 7.95mm.

The Neffos X1 Max, quite obviously, is the larger of the two smartphones. It comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p resolution display and is powered by the very same MediaTek Helio P10 SoC as the X1. As for memory, the X1 Max will be offered in two configurations – 3GB of RAM + 32GB ROM & 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. The X1 Max too includes a microSD card slot like the X1 for further expansion. While most of its spec-sheet is identical to the X1, it does come with a larger 3000mAh capacity battery, so it will perform better than its smaller sibling in terms of battery life. As for dimensions, the handset measures 152.8 x 76 x 7.75mm.

Both smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The duo is expected to go on sale by the end of 2016 in Grey and Gold color options. Prices will start at €199 for the Neffos X1 and €249 in case of the Neffos X1 Max.
