Those of you who were disappointed after Xiaomi’s announcement that the Mi Mix won’t be released outside China, will be happy to know that the handset maker is likely to fulfill your dreams to some extent.
The Chinese company is working to bring a smaller version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix on the market, but we sincerely hope it will incorporate the same bezel-less design as the original.
Sadly, we haven’t learned the most important aspect about the new device: is it going to be available in countries other than China?
According to a new report, the Mi Mix’s smaller brother is internally known as Mi Mix Nano, though we wouldn’t be surprised if Xiaomi will use the same name if it decides to launch it on the market.
An image of the Mi Mix Nano was leaked in China, but instead of giving us an idea of what to expect in terms of looks, the picture confirms some of the phone’s specs.
That’s why we know the Mi Mix Nano will sports a much smaller 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. In comparison, the Mi Mix boasts a huge 6.4-inch display and features a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio.
The next best thing Xiaomi fans can buy?
Also, Xiaomi will keep the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset inside Mi Mix’s smaller brother, as well as the same amount of memory: 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Unfortunately, the phone, if it will go official, won’t be coming with Nougat onboard. The image leaked shows the Mi Mix Nano runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
There are no details on the camera yet, but the source who leaked the image claims the Mi Mix Nano will be launched in China for around $435, much cheaper than the 128GB Mi Mix model that’s been priced to sell for $510.
Considering the Mi Mix will be released in limited quantities, the Mi Mix Nano could be the next best thing that Xiaomi fans can get for the remaining of the year.
