A new Autopilot update is out from Tesla and it includes features that bring its more recent vehicles nearly up to speed with its older cars. Version 8.1 of Tesla’s software adds high-speed Autosteer (up to 80 mph), Auto Lane Change, Summon, and Lane Departure Warnings.
One of the few things still absent from Tesla’s newer HW2 vehicles is automatic emergency braking.
This update is addressing the fact that HW2 vehicles have actually been less feature-filled than older cars due to Tesla’s need to verify the functionality of certain Autopilot capabilities.
