Tesla Releases A 'Chill' Driving Mode

257

For people who don’t quite need all of the power that comes with Tesla’s performance-centric driving modes, the company has rolled out a “chill” mode. When enabled, it offers a “gentler ride” due to its smoother and “more gradual” acceleration. It’ll take a Tesla Model S 100D about 7.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

That’s a bit slower than the 2.275 second acceleration rate reached by Tesla’s Ludicrous+ mode on a P100D.

Tesla has also introduced a new “exit mode” that automatically raises the steering wheel and adjusts the seat so that it’s easier to get out.
