Tesla has dropped the price of its Model X SUV by another $3,000. You can now pick up the luxury electric vehicle for $79,500, which is just $5,000 more than the base Model S sedan. The lowest-end Model S had its own price reduced by $3,000 back in April.
When we launched Model X 75D, it had a low gross margin. As we’ve achieved efficiencies, we are able to lower the price and pass along more value to our customers. – Tesla
Tesla has also announced some other changes to its lineup. The P100D versions of both vehicles will now come with the Premium Upgrade Package, letting people avoid a $5,000 extra charge. That covers things like five heated seats, medical-grade HEPA filtration, and superior audio.
