Tesla is going to double the size of its Supercharger network this year, bringing the network to over 10,000 chargers globally. Its Destination charging connectors, which are present in commercial locations, will also grow from 9,000 installations to 15,000 this year.
California alone is getting 1,000 new chargers in 2017. Throughout North America, the number of Supercharger locations is rising 150%.
Tesla first introduced the Supercharger network in 2012, laying the groundwork for a massive electric vehicle charging system that could support vehicles like the Model S.
