As there are billions of smartphones running on Android, one of the main decisive factors to choose this or that handset/brand can become the custom UI. As a result, even the smallest and unknown Chinese manufacturers have developed their own user interface based on Android OS. But there are companies owning forward-looking goals. The Chinese Tencent is one of them. We got it when the company launched a custom ROM based on Android back in 2012. This OS was called Tita. But it didn’t become popular due to several reasons. Later the company announced it is going to launch another operating system based on the same Android called TOS+. This announcement was made in April, 2015. The Tencent OS is currently available, and we have decided to try it out on the Xiaomi Mi 4.
The TOS+ custom ROM was tested on the Mi 4 running Android 4.4 and MIUI 5. So let’s see what a fresher interface it brings to Mi fans.
- This is the booting screen of the TOS+.
- While booting the OS requires to sing in QQ.
- This is the home screen of TOS+.
- Settings.
- Notification bar.
- Messaging.
- Calendar and clock.
- Album and notes.
- Weather.
- Calculator.
- File management.
- App store and themes.
- Power off screen.
As we can see the TOS+ uses a flat style design. Commonly, we didn’t notice anything annoying, and we can write down the Tencent OS comes our way with a minimalistic design and gives a feeling of lightness. So if you own a Meizu handset running on Flyme, a Huawei smartphone with EMUI, a Oppo device with Color, a Vivo based on Funtouch OS, or even a Xiaomi handset running on MIUI, but you want to change it, the TOS+ custom ROM can be one of the most acceptable options.
