Teclast plans to launch tablets with Apollo Lake chips

Chinese device maker Teclast has announced it’s replacing a number of its tablets with new models, including several with Intel Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake processors. There’s also at least one model on the way which has a Core i5 processor, although it’s not clear which i5 chip it will have.

Teclast’s press releases about the new tablets are still pretty vague, but they do suggest that the goal is to refresh its tablet lineup with new, more powerful models.

For example, Teclast says one new 12.2 inch model will be available with a 2.2 GHz Celeron N3450 chip, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and Windows 10 software.

Another 12.2 inch tablet is said to feature that unspecified Core i5 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

The 11.6 inch Teclast X3 Pro which launched earlier this year is being discontinued, but it will be replaced with a the Teclast X3 Plus which sports a Celeron N3450 chip, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.

The Teclast TBOOK 12 Pro and TBOOK 16 Pro tablets, meanwhile, is getting a more modest upgrade: Teclast is replacing the Atom x5-Z8300 chip in that tablet with a slightly faster Atom x5-Z8350 chip.

Finally, the new TBOOK 16 Power will feature an Atom x7-Z8750/8GB/64GB.

Prices and launch dates aren’t yet available.
