Red Dead and Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two Interactive is interested in creating content that’ll be available on the Nintendo Switch. No final decision has been made regarding the console, but Take-Two president Karl Slatoff says the company is “intrigued and excited” about the Switch.
How the publisher will actually work with the system depends on how popular it is.
With any new hardware, there is always an element of ‘wait and see,’ and the install base is going to drive a lot [of Take-Two’s level of support]. We’re very intrigued and excited about it. The Nintendo folks I think are making a great effort to reach out to third-party developers, which I think is fantastic. – Slatoff
Take-Two is one of the partners Nintendo mentioned during its Switch unveil in October. Despite being mentioned, it hasn’t actually committed to releasing any games for the console.
Slatoff couldn’t share any detailed plans about how Take-Two will approach the platform, but he is viewing the Switch in a positive light.
I would say we’re very optimistic and they’re good partners. We’re excited to work with them in the future on it. – Slatoff
