Taiwan market: Smartphone shipments up slightly in October

A total of 722,000 smartphones were sold in the Taiwan market in October, increasing 5% from the previous month, according to data compiled by local retail channels.

Sales of iPhone 7 devices reached 150,000 units in October, making Apple the top vendor in the month with a 28.2% share in terms of sales volume. Samsung followed with a 15.5% share, Asustek Computer 14.9%, HTC12.1% and Sony Mobile Communications 10.2%.

In terms of sales value, Apple also ranked the first with a 59.9% share, followed by Samsung 11.3%, Sony Mobile 10.4%, Asustek 6.4% and HTC 5.6%.

The top-10 best-selling models in the month were: iPhone 7 128GB, iPhone 7 Plus 128GB, ZenFone 3 ZE552KL, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016), Xperia ZX 64GB, iPhone 7 32GB, ZenFone 3 ZE520KL, HTC Desire 728, Xperia XA16GB and Galaxy S7 edge.
