The LG G6 is hitting shelves this month in South Korea and other select markets, but we’ve heard that it may not be released in the US before April. While all major US carriers already confirmed the upcoming launch of the new smartphone, they only mentioned that the device would be available sometime “this spring.” Fortunately, it looks like this doesn’t mean late spring. Or at least not for T-Mobile.
Promo material posted on Twitter (apparently by someone who works at T-Mobile) shows the magenta carrier’s G6 with an April 7 date on its home screen. Quite often, promo images like these can reveal launch dates in this manner – via what’s seen on a phone’s home screen.
A previous rumor had it that the LG G6 would arrive in the US exactly on April 7. And this day will indeed be a Friday, as the screen of T-Mobile’s G6 shows (you can see that if you zoom in close enough on the image above). Thus, we are certainly expecting T-Mobile to start selling the new handsets on April 7.
At the moment, we don’t know how much the LG G6 will cost in the US, but it’s probably safe to assume it’s not going to be cheaper than $600 off contract. Until we hear more on this, make sure to check out our LG G6 preview for a closer look at the device.
