A major US carrier has begun rolling out an update to truly kill the potentially dangerous Samsung Galaxy Note 7. T-Mobile is sending out the update and phones will display an on-screen notification about the Note 7 recall once updated. AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint customers will get the same software update on January 5.
With this update installed, the Note 7 won’t be able to charge at all, effectively making it useless. Anyone who hasn’t already turned in their handset will have an even greater reason to do so.
