T-Mobile rolls out February security patch for the Galaxy S4…

206

T-Mobile is rolling out the latest Android security patch to two old Samsung devices that you may not even remember anymore. The carrier has released the February security patch for the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Tab 3. They’ve received the patch today even though they’re still on Android 4.4 KitKat. One can think of many newer models that could do well with receiving the latest patch but it is what it is.

It has been over a year since the carrier released a new update for either device. It sent out the last update for the Galaxy S4 back in December 2015 while the Galaxy Tab 3 got its last update in August 2015. It appears that out of the blue, T-Mobile decided to release the latest Android security patch for two devices that won’t even be bumped up to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Nevertheless, if you own a Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Tab 3 on T-Mobile, keep an eye open for firmware version M919UVSFQA1 and T217TUVSBQA1 respectively as both are being rolled out today by T-Mobile over-the-air.
