That’s not a secret Xiaomi is currently working on the next-gen Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone. We have heard much about the forthcoming device, but the rumors spread today disclose a surprising info on it. It turns out there will be two version of the Xiaomi Mi 6 – one of them will be packed with a regular 5.15-inch display, while the second one should sport a 5.7-inch display identical to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. No naming has been thought for the second model. That’s why we are going to call it the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to launch on April 16. The launch date of this device has been pushed back for a few times, but this date is going to be final. Many may not understand why we worry about the release date so much. The thing is that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first Chinese brand to sport Snapdragon 835 10nm processor. As you know, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be packed with it as well. So this is a quite important for the company not to fall behind of Samsung. Fortunately, the latest leaks claim the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be equipped with the latest creation of Qualcomm for sure.
As for the chip, much earlier it’s been thought there will be three versions of the phone, and one of them will be packed with Xiaomi’s self-developed SoC. We were even thinking this chip can become a game-changer. Alas, this rumor was denied later. On one hand, this news is quite acceptable, as the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be on the same line with top brands. But on the other hand, this means Xiaomi still is not ready to come in with a high-end chip.

Well, this is not anything new. But I bet you haven’t heard the upcoming flagship of the company is going to sport a Sony IMX400 sensor. Though many say Sony brings its top-level sensors only to its devices, I have to recall the case of the Oppo R9S. As you know, the latter is packed with an IMX398 sensor jointly made with Sony. Thus it’s quite reasonable to see a better sensor on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6.
Now as for the screen size, there should be two versions – the regular version of the Mi 6 will come with a 5.15-inch display, while the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus should sport a 5.7-inch display as well as dual-camera (possibly, it will use an IMX362 sensor).
At last, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is going to have narrower borders. Thanks to improved black bezels around the screen its screen-to-body ratio will be higher. The housing is rumored to be made of ceramic that is quite possible if taking into account the latest announcement referring to the investments made in this industry. Anyway, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to come at a thickness of 8mm. The rest of features include a 3200mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory.
