Xiaomi has several unannounced smartphones in its sleeves that are expected to be announced by the end of 2017. One of them is Xiaomi Redmi 5, a successor to last year’s Redmi 4 smartphone, which has now surfaced online in renders, which also revealed possible specs and pricing. The only thing that wasn’t revealed is the availability information.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 looks to be very similar to its predecessor, with 5-inch 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 630 coupled with 3 or 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of storage. The battery is smaller at 3,680 mAh compared to 4,000 mAh battery. Other specs include dual-SIM support, an improved 16-megapixel rear camera and Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top. The expected price tag is 859 yuan or $130 for the base and 1,299 yuan or $190 for the top model.
