A new music royalty deal is set to be reached by Spotify and Warner Music by September. Sources speaking with Reuters claim the music streaming service is close to closing a new deal. As was previously reported, the deal will likely give Spotify a better revenue split in exchange for it making some albums exclusive to paying users for a time.
Warner has yet to agree to an exact revenue split, but it’s expected to change in Spotify’s favor.
Some sources claim there are enough major points to finalize that an agreement could take longer than September.
