SpaceX’s busy weekend of launches was entirely successful. The company launched and recovered two rockets during a 48-hour period, a first for any company in the industry. On Friday, SpaceX used a Falcon 9 for its BulgariaSat1 launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
And on Sunday, it used another rocket to bring 10 Iridium satellites to space. That mission began at the Vandenburg Air Force base in California.
Both launches utilized reusable rocket technology and were the 2nd and 3rd times SpaceX has reused its rockets. The first time it ever launched a rocket for a second time was earlier this year. The company hopes to eventually be capable of a 24-hour turnaround for reusable rocket launches.
