Though there’s been talk of financial difficulties at SoundCloud for months, CEO Alex Ljung has strongly refuted the idea that it’s close to going out of business. In a blog post, the executive said “SoundCloud is here to stay” and no core aspect of the site will change.
[The] music you love on SoundCloud isn’t going away, the music you shared or uploaded isn’t going away, because SoundCloud is not going away. – Ljung
His post was partly in response to recent claims that the company only has enough money to reach the early fourth quarter of 2017. According to Ljung, the company isn’t changing any time in the “foreseeable future.”
