One of the most technologically advanced smartphones introduced last month at Mobile World Congress, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium will be making its debut on the market in early June.
Although Sony did not disclose any details about the smartphone’s availability, a couple of UK retailers are now taking pre-orders for the Xperia XZ Premium.
Unlocked-mobile has the best deal on the Xperia XZ Premium as customers can buy one for £640. The other two UK-based retailers, Amazon and Clove, are selling the flagship for £650.
However, Unlocked-mobiles offers the smartphone in two colors, Deepsea Black, and Luminous Chrome, while Amazon and Clove sell the Deepsea Black version only.
Customers who pre-order the Xperia XZ Premium through either of the three retailers won’t be getting the phone until early June.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium was the only smartphone announced at MWC 2017 to pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, which is probably the reason the flagship won’t hit the shelves until June.
It’s also one of the few to come with a Motion Eye camera, which can shoot slow-motion videos (4x slower than any other phone) and can even take pictures before the shutter is pressed.
Due to its late launch, the Xperia XZ Premium will have to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, which are expected to go on sale on April 28. But Sony’s flagship seems to have what it takes to withstand Samsung’s assault, don’t you think?
