Sony’s Xperia X2 is likely on track for a release in early 2017. Two codenames for upcoming Xperia handsets, G3112 and G3121, have been shared by the Eurasian Economic Commission. In previous years, the codenames have used preceding letters of the alphabet. The Xperia X was the F5121 and the Xperia Z5 was the E6603.
As Sony tends to unveil new phones during Mobile World Congress, which is held in February, everything seems to point towards a reveal of the Xperia X2 at that time. By the time MWC is here, the Xperia X will be due for an upgrade.
