After HTC, Sony has released a list of devices that it plans to update to Android 7.0 Nougat in the near future.
The devices shortlisted by Sony for the Android 7.0 Nougat update include the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, and the Xperia X Performance. With the exception of Xperia XA Ultra, rest of the devices in this list are all flagship grade products.
That unfortunately means owners of mid-range Xperia smartphones are going to be disappointed, as Sony hasn’t mentioned anything about a second list with more devices being included. The company hasn’t divulged any details regarding the rollout timeframe either, so we can only hope that Xperia devices get updated to Android Nougat before the end of the year.
