Before we start getting acquainted with the key features of the Mijia induction cooker, it requires a quick recall of facts. Back in November 2017 at its first MIDC IoT Developer Conference in Beijing announced the strategic cooperation with Baidu. This means they will build IoT + AI ecosystem jointly. It’s difficult to say who will benefit more because recently the company announced Xiaomi Mijia IoT platform has more than 85 million connected devices and over 10 million daily active devices, making it the world’s largest IoT platform for smart hardware.

Therefore, we have been getting smart products for all cases of life from Xiaomi earlier, and it turns out nothing will change. The Mijia induction cooker is the first product for the kitchen after the Xiaomi IH 4L Smart Electric Rice Cooker. And it is going to become a bestseller due to a number of useful features that you wouldn’t find on any other device. The Mijia induction cooker continues the minimalistic design philosophy of other Mijia line products. This gives a very scientific and technological sense to it. There is a knob on the front. This is the only way to interact with the cooker if not using the APP. Say, a long press will turn it on. A rotation will adjust the amount of heat. By the way, there is total power of 2100W that is divided into 99 gears. There are LED lights above the known displaying the current heat status. There is a LED screen placed right on the knob that displays various information including the amount of heat, cooking mode, time, and so on. When the Mijia induction cooker is turned on, you can press the function key next to the knob to select one of five modes including a hotpot, cooking, soup porridge, and frying.
As for the cooker (part) itself, it uses a special design with a silicone ring mounted on the edge of the surface. It creates friction and helps the pan to be better fixed. The probe placed in the middle of the surface that is in a direct contact with the bottom of the pot for the most accurate measurement of heat. But there are various functions implemented via it. Say, it can detect the battery drainage status, the pressure rate, etc.
The Mijia induction cooker has gas-cooled air duct on the bottom. It comes with 35 adjustable mini fan blades to exchange air with the outside. So the stove is protected from overheating. Moreover, it uses a microcrystalline water separator technology, which prevents water from penetrating inside the coil to avoid electric leakage, ensuring absolute safety.
At last, this smart cooker can be controlled remotely via the APP. There are up to five cooking modes. Honestly, any of them can be chosen manually, but the APP offers way more operations to implement. Say, you can select a suggested recipe and the APP will adjust the required amount of heat and time automatically. Plus, the APP will show all the required ingredients and the instruction to cook it properly. But this is a Xiaomi product, so it’s reasonable to see an AI element there.
