Sinbon sees growing performance in non-PC areas
Ninelu Tu, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Friday 16 December 2016]

Taiwan-based IT component maker Sinbon Electronics is seeing improved operations in business groups including medicare, automotive and aviation, green energy, industrial applications, and communications and its revenues in 2017 are expected to enjoy an on-year growth similar to that of 2016, according to company chairman Joseph Wang.

With the growth of new businesses, notebook-related components now only account for 5% of Sinbon’s revenues, down dramatically from the peak of 95%.

Sinbon will focus on becoming more international and will push intelligent applications and develop integrated products, Wang noted.

For the medicare business, Sinbon has already been certified by MedAccred for medical supply chain management and its plants in Taiwan and China have also been certified by the AS 9100.

Sinbon recently landed orders for solar micro inverters and related cables and will supply 10 million sets over four years, Wang added.
