If you didn’t know, Foxconn has recently acquired Sharp and now wants to compete with LG. According to new reports, Sharp is getting ready to start manufacturing OLED TV panels and compete with LG’s OLED technology.
The firm will reportedly spend about ¥57.4 billion or $515 million to build production lines for OLEDs at its plants in the city of Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, and in the town of Taki, Mie Prefecture.
One plants would work on small and medium panels for phones and laptops, while the other would focus on TVs. Both plants are expected to start manufacturing panels in the spring of 2018.
