In the realm of smart assistants, you now have Siri, Cortana, Google Assistant, and last but not least, Samsung’s latest competitor, Bixby. It has become a monumental battle this year for the newest generations of  virtual assistants residing in your computer and smartphone,

This round, Samsung comes out swinging, giving Apple a difficult time with Bixby, that seeks to seriously undermine Siri.

Other than the standard features of what an AI should have, we hear that Bixby might be coming with a unique isual search capability. This will let the AI analyze images, looking for and identifying objects, as well as to performing optical character recognition (OCR) on visible text.

Some rumours hint at Bixby being located on the side of your Samsung smartphone so that users can easily access Bixby, and some new exciting features Samsung seeks to unveil when the time is right. One of these features being Samsung’s edge-to-edge display which will be appearing on the Galaxy S8, or at least that’s what we’ve seen in leaked images of the upcoming Samsung flagship. The images further indicate that both the home button and the navigation keys that are touch-activated are not around anymore. This could point to your fingerprint sensor being located on the back of your device per perhaps even under the glass as the Daily Mail suggests.
